Education First!
For us, active personnel development is the key to solving these questions in a modern way.
What will the "port" workplace look like in the near future? What influence will digitisation have? What must our employees be able to do and learn so that we can continue to be successful? For us, active personnel development is the key to solving these questions in a modern way.
No area is excluded from the changes in the world of work at NPorts. A few years ago, our port masters still registered and documented incoming ships by hand. Today they are supported by intelligent software that links our systems directly to the ship's data. IT-supported work affects all areas. The processing of data opens up new possibilities for work planning. The change of a process quickly turns into the beginning of an operative replanning, which affects several departments at once. So it is only logical that we have completely redesigned our personnel development in 2016 in order to meet the growing demands at all times. To this end, the personnel departments are working together across locations and topics.
A Database Full of Continuing Education
Anyone who knows the further education market knows how complex it is to filter out suitable offers for organisation, people and tasks. Our database contains more than 160 further education opportunities and describes them in detail. We differentiate between professional and interdisciplinary offers. The specialist qualifications are aimed at developments in our specific areas of work, such as technology, port office or law and real estate. The interdisciplinary courses focus on leadership, conflict resolution and methodological competence - the key competencies for successful cooperation.
Colleagues who have already attended an event are invited to give an assessment. Whether it's workshops on employee leadership, personal development coaching, energy seminars or special software training: your assessments become valuable recommendations and pass on knowledge to all of us.
Learning Leadership Differently
We at NPorts have always been open to unusual careers, perhaps because of our cosmopolitan, maritime attitude. In the race with the rapid developments on the job market, we don't want to let any talent go through the net in the future. We promote the talents of our employees accordingly. To this end, we want to set up a sustainable management development programme. In addition to extraordinary professional qualifications, new management skills are extremely important to us. In this way, we promote a communicative work culture of participation. This is exactly where our new program comes in: It identifies promising young talents and prepares them for their future management tasks through training and cross-divisional projects. Because shaping our port future in harmony with people and the environment requires at least two things: heart and mind.
